November 2011

Key West, FL

On 11/11/11 my brother got married.  Quite honestly I never thought I'd actually see him get married, but somehow hell froze over, and he got hitched.  This was our "family photo" from the reception.

Pictured L-R: Alicia, Keith, Mom, Lumilla, Dad, Me, David.

Key West, FL

This is David and I with my new sister-in-law Alicia at the party after the party.  I might be gay, but damn, she is one good-looking woman, and she's super nice.  It was a pleasure to finally meet her, and I'm happy she's part of our family.

June 2007

Philadelphia, PA

In the 13 years that I lived in Philadelphia, my parents visited a grand total of twice.  On both occasions they came to a PGMC concert.  This picture was taken after a concert on their second visit to town.

July 2007

North East, PA

Sad to say, but because my brother and I don't live near our hometown any more (especially my brother who lives 1,500 miles away) pictures like this only seem to happen when there are funerals, and this picture was no exception.

This picture was taken July 2007 at the funeral of my maternal grandmother - my last grandparent to pass away.  This was the first time in many years that the four of us had been together.

Of my four grandparents, for me, this funeral was the hardest to "get through".  I was very close to my mother's mother, and often joked with her that I was "her favorite grandson".

August 1998

North East, PA

This picture of my family was taken August 1998, around the time of my maternal grandfather's funeral.

Yes, both my brother and I have goatees in this picture, but trust me, the similarities (other than coming out of the same womb) pretty much end there.

August 1998

North East, PA

This photo of my mom's side of the family was taken August 1998 when all of us had returned home to North East, PA for Grandpa's funeral.  It was an intense four days at home, but it was good to see all my relatives.  Especially my cousins whom we used to hang out with as kids.  Now the four of us are all grown up (some married) and it's great fun to sit around and re-tell the stories of our antics as kids.

October 1994

North East, PA

In October of 1994 my father's side of the family held a surprise 50th anniversary party for my grandparents.  It was the first and only time (in my lifetime) that almost the entire family was assembled in one room -- only three grandchildren had not been able to make it.

February 1942

Wesleyville, PA

These pictures of my mother's parents were taken shortly before their wedding in 1942.  It's stunning how handsome/beautiful of a couple they were.  The digital version of these pictures just don't do the originals justice.

Go granny go! Grandma C. and I Grandpa K.

April 2000

North East, PA

Both of my grandmothers were a part of my life since I was born, because they both lived in my hometown.  I think I've been extremely fortunate to have a large portion of my family living in my hometown, or close by.  It certainly makes family gatherings a whole lot easier to organize.

This is the last photo of myself and my Grandma C.  She passed away in March of 2006.  Her health had been declining for years, but she was always a strong Italian woman.

As at the previous two grandparents' funerals before this one, I sang during the funeral service.

Spring 1998

North East, PA

In August of 1998, my mother's father passed away.  While this certainly wasn't the first death I'd ever seen in my family, it certainly was the "closest" to me.

I sang at the funeral and was also a pallbearer with my brother, two cousins, and their spouses.

I will never forget Grandpa and the things he taught me.

September 2002

Harborcreek, PA

Just after Labor Day of 2002 my father's father passed away.  He had suffered for many years with Alzheimer's.  This picture is of my grandmother and my father and his three brothers.  They are in order from oldest to youngest, left to right.  My father is brother #3.

This picture of my paternal grandparents was taken at their 50th wedding anniversary party in 1994.

This is me with my cousin Gregory.  Can you tell we're Italian?

March 2006

These three photos were taken at my Grandma C's funeral.  Pictured here are my parents, my dad's three brothers and their wives.

March 2006

North East, PA

Here is my family.  Unfortunately, my brother was not able to make it back for the funeral due to flights being cancelled in Florida where he lives.  I was looking forward to the four of us being together again for the first time in many years.

March 2006

North East, PA

For the first time since the anniversary party in 1994, almost all of the grandchildren on my father's side of the family were together (except for my brother which I already mentioned).  Also in this photo are several of the great-grandchildren.
